One of my favorite albums by Selena. Will begin shortly. Ajona, keep it watchlisted. — Legolas(talk2me) 15:41, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

I sure will. Thanks for reviewing, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 15:50, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Your dedication towards Selena articles really impress me. I know what happened with all the block and those bull-shit, but even then you have come back with full-force. Atta boi! — Legolas(talk2me) 15:52, 4 December 2011 (UTC)
Awww thanks for that :-) Well I'm glad that I've improved over the years while being on Wikipedia. Anyways, hope you enjoy reading and if there are any remaining issues, I'll fix them asap ;-) Best and happy holidays, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 16:06, 4 December 2011 (UTC)

  • Nothing found. Good. — Legolas(talk2me) 15:48, 7 December 2011 (UTC)
Lead and infobox
  • Per WP:IBX, remove that internal wikilink to release and history from infobox.
  • Various recording locations is just vague. If recording locations are not available, then just give the date range, which by the way should be 1994–95 and not how it is, per MOS:DATERANGE.
  • and was released on July 18, --> Break into a new sentence from there.
Not sure what you mean here? If I put a period after the date then should I remove EMI Records and EMI Latin?
  • Why the ghost hyphen after English?
  • that were remixed with a Caribbean influence from the dance hall and reggae genres --> this is not clear, why and how is Caribbean being incorporated into dance hall and reggae?
Because those two music genres originated in the Caribbeans.
If that is so, then you donot need to explicitly say it like this. — Legolas(talk2me) 14:38, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
  • and expanded the 'Tejano Music Movement' ---> You are writing it in quotes as if there was some special band or club like that promoting Tejano music.
  • and it wanted to launch her --> and they wanted to....
  • Make the transition from the preparation for the tour and album, to the death more gradual. It is just abstract and stops there.
Not sure what you mean here either, can you say this a bit more clearer?
More elaboration. It says the preparation for the tour and album and then BAM! She dies. It should be more like 'However, before it was released Selena was killed (by that bloody bitch grrr)'....</strike — Legolas(talk2me) 14:38, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
    Lolz
  • Same with the third para. Abrupt with the beginning of the commercial response. There is no mention of the release.
  • The following cornucopia about the album's sales are from an US perspective. Make it clear.
Not sure what you mean here either, can you say this a bit more clearer?
All the descriptions of sales are what it underwent in US per Billboard. Clariify that in the lead. — Legolas(talk2me) 14:38, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry but do you want me to add that all the records she made were in the US?. Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 14:53, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
References
  • Footnotes (FN) where there is no url, should not have an accessdate parameter. For eg: FN 2, 3.
  • Why are some of the books linked to google books, but have different publishers? For eg: FN 30, for Craig Rosen's Billboard book, it is published by 'Billboard Books', not Billboard the magazine. Amend them as the same.
  • And when you cite journal, make the magazine name in italics. FN 53
  • Same with other Billboard and Spin references.
  • Missing accessdate parameters in some FNs where url is present.
  • Actually, please concentrate on the references at the urgent. They will be the death of this article.

Started, but I could not go betond teh lead since the reference formatting is a major issue here. — Legolas(talk2me) 15:48, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

All Fixed. Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 19:49, 7 December 2011 (UTC)

I may not just be understanding this correctly, but why is there almost no mention of her death in this article? It was intended to be released on that date was it not? It's not like it was something that was put together in lieu of her death. Status {talkcontribs 02:30, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

The album was supposed to be released in the fall of 1995, Selena died in March. There is about three-four sentences overall about her death and who Yolanda was. I think that's enough information I believe? Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 03:14, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
So, let me get this straight: she was in the middle of recording an album, but then when she was murdered it wasn't done. So this is just all she had done? This line really confused me: 'In an interview on January 20, 1995, Selena said the album would be released in July.' Status {talkcontribs 05:24, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Actually Status is correct Ajona. I felt the same and was gonna ask. Also the same could be said about the tour and the release. — Legolas(talk2me) 16:38, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Hmm okay. So I'll add more to her death. The crossover tour, I can't find not even one source about it besides the one presented. What's wrong with the 'Release'? It's four paragraphs long :D. Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 17:22, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
I think what you can do is make the Promotion section a single section, by removing all the subsection. The {{main}} template for the tour doesn't really add anything as that article is practically less than a stub. About the release as Zach pointed, bring it in context. First of all, did Selena die while recording the album. Or was recording finished and then she was shot? Bring the context of Yolanda (bitch) now and talk about the discrepancies. Then talk about the album being released posthumously. — Legolas(talk2me) 08:17, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
I will do tomorrow. Sorry for the late response. Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 02:14, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Wait, there is information regarding Selena's death. In 'Production' section it reads: Selena was scheduled to record 'Oh No (I'll Never Fall in Love Again)' on the morning of March 31, 1995, but was killed on the same day by Yolanda Saldivar, a prior friend and manager of her boutiques. Is this enough? I have also Done what you asked for in Promotion. Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 23:29, 2 January 2012 (UTC)
Good... I'll paste the prose review then :) — Legolas(talk2me) 07:10, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

  • During a private dinner in a Thai restaurant in 1994, Selena was very upset about the pressure she was under from the press about the album.[3] She said that she had told numerous news crews that the album was about to be released, but she had not recorded one song for the album ---> This reads like totally copied from a book... either rephrase else do sumthin... • Can you stop with the mid-line citations?
  • Selena was scheduled to record 'Oh No (I'll Never Fall in Love Again)' on the morning of March 31, 1995, but was killed on the same day by Yolanda Saldivar, a prior friend and manager of her boutiques ---> This is exactly what Zach and me complained about. There's no context placed for her beath and what followed from it. See, Dreaming of You won't be structurally same as other music album articles. Her death impacted teh whole schedule, releaes, promotion etc.... You have to change the structure. I do believe a pre-death and post-death structure is necessary here.
Done most. I'm not sure what other alternatives are when talking about the album (since it never had a title at the time). Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 01:52, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

Ajona, I'm kinda baffled as to what I will do with this article. I'm finding fault with each and every line that you have written. Each one of them creeps of grammatical mistakes. It is just impossible to list every erroneous content here, in this review. I need a reply from you. I can fail this and you can submit it for PR or GOCE and come back to GAN. Or you can ask other inputs also. — Legolas(talk2me) 13:48, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

It's been at GOCE twice, however, I just asked an experienced GOCE member if he/she will be willing to perform a c/e on this article. I'll wait on his/her reply. Sorry for the prose, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 15:28, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
Lemme know what Stfg does on this. Then I will review it again. — Legolas(talk2me) 15:55, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
She's unable to do it. I guess it has to fail again. I'll work on it more and will request a c/e. All the best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 22:27, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
In fact I'm a 'he' :)) --Stfg (talk) 17:00, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Please forgive me. Best, Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 17:24, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Not a problem. Best, --Stfg (talk) 19:54, 5 January 2012 (UTC)

I am really sorry Ajona for failing this. I hope you can understand from where my worries are coming from. It is simply impossible to point out each and every line of the prose in a GA review. I do hope Stfg works on it in his spare time and you get to nominate it again for GAC. It's a favorite album of mine and would love to see it as GA. — Legolas(talk2me) 05:38, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

It's understandable. No worries buddy :D Jonayo!Selena 4 ever 06:14, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
