Yamaha guitars In 1887, Yamaha (then Nippon Gakki Co., Ltd.) began producing reed organs in Japan. The Yamaha Corporation has grown to become the world’s. The most common Yamaha serial numbers follow a system that uses 2 letters, followed by 5 numbers. Let’s look at an example of what this might look like – MM12022 From this we can tell that this is the 22 nd guitar built on June 12 of either 1966, 1976, 1986, 1996 or 2006. So how does this work? 2020 marks two related anniversaries for Yamaha Guitars: the 30th anniversary of Yamaha Guitar Development - our Los Angeles custom shop - and the 30th anniversary of the Attitude series. The signature bass of the singular Billy Sheehan, the Attitude was one of the first production instruments developed by YGD. This guitar in the sample serial number was the 26th guitar built in April 2007. The Q stands for a 0 and the N is a 7, which means 07 for 2007. QN K 026 C is the 26 th guitar built in April, 20 07. With big amp response, incredible effects, and hi-fi stereo sound in a package that’s built to meet all of your off-stage needs, you’re about to begin a new chapter in your playing. THR heads bring VCM amp modeling to the studio or stage. Soft case for 3/4-size and 7/8-size Yamaha nylon-string guitars.

Yamaha Guitar Amp Serial Numbers Online
Based on my own information a few comments have to be made:
Yamaha Guitar Model Numbers
Some (perhaps even many) very early “modern” SG’s (1500, 2000 etc) have a serial number that doesn’t match the system above. They have the 1976 SG175 type 5 digit number.
Yamaha Acoustic Guitar Serial Numbers
Now the good part. History of Yamaha Guitars states that this numbering system is valid for SG and SX guitars. But also my SF guitars and my SC guitars (all 70’ies) match the above numbering system. I don’t know for sure but it looks like these guitars can be dated by the chart above too. Luckely these guitars normaly also have a pickup number that makes them datable.
